The Wemyss family’s fledgling Fife distillery visitor centre was opened to the public on St Andrews Day 2014, with spirit distillation beginning in January 2015. After a few months perfecting the spirit style, the distillery manager, Peter Holroyd, proudly filled the first casks on March 23rd 2015. Initially, all the casks selected were first fill ex Bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill Distillery in Kentucky. Kingsbarns Distillery is delighted to announce that its visitor centre has recently received a 5 Star rating from VisitScotland. The Visitor Centre opened on 30th November 2014 and was initially graded at 4 stars in 2015. The facility include a whisky tour complete with exhibition and tasting, a shop and cafe.
