We’ve been open for a year! We celebrated our opening on St Andrews Day, 30th November, with get-together in the visitor centre.
William Wemyss, from the Wemyss family owners, and Douglas Clement, Founder and Visitor Centre Manager lead proceedings by launching the Kingsbarns Distillery Founders’ Club.
To celebrate the first anniversary, we re-lived some of the highlights from our first year. One of our talented guides, John, gave a rendition of the Burns poem John Barleycorn. We also heard the beautiful Burns song “Tak’ a Dram” from Louise.
One of the most popular parts of the day was our amazing cake – made by our very talented cafe assistant, Martha – complete with the distillery front, barley, poppies from the field and our ever present “doo’s” (pigeons).
